Mjog and NHS App integration

Send Mjog smart messages through the NHS App and engage more patients at reduced cost.

Supporting practices and patients

Mjog now offers integration with the NHS App. This will enable Mjog practices to send Mjog smart messages through the NHS App and engage more patients at reduced cost. This enhancement is available for practices with a smart message subscription selected to participate by their ICB/PCN. Integration offers a host of benefits for both patients and practice teams.

Key information

At Mjog by Livi, we’re continuously looking to improve the experience of patients and our NHS partners. NHS App integration is a core part of our commitment and how we’re supporting the vision for the NHS App to become the digital front door to health services.

Any smart message your practice sends through Mjog will be delivered via the NHS App. In order to increase the engagement with patients via NHS App and make use of the smart messaging, patients must have the notification toggle on the NHS App switched on.

If the patient does not have the NHS App or have the notification toggle on the NHS App switched on, they will automatically receive the message via SMS. If the patient does have the NHS App but does not receive a notification via the NHS App within 1 hour of delivery, they will automatically receive the message via SMS.

Now Messages and SMS-only templates will continue to be sent as usual outside of the NHS App.

This feature is only available to sites with smart messages. If you'd like to expand your subscription to include smart messages, please get in touch with our team today.

If your ICB/PCN has selected your practice for Mjog/NHS App integration, your group lead will be required to sign updated terms. NHS App integration also means your practice should consider updating its privacy policy to include the following information:

We use the NHS Account Messaging Service provided by NHS Digital to send you messages relating to your health and care. You need to be an NHS App user to receive these messages. Further information about the service can be found at the privacy notice for the NHS App managed by NHS Digital at: https://www.nhs.uk/using-the-nhs/nhs-services/the-nhs-app/privacy/

You do not need to make any changes to how you use Mjog and no extra training will be required. You can continue to send messages as you would usually.

We will provide you with preset templates to send to patients to download the NHS App. In advance of this, you may wish to signpost patients to download the NHS App if they have not already done so.

You can also inform patients that they will be able to receive messages from your practice going forwards within the NHS App once your practice goes live.
